Dental visits during orthodontic treatment

Dental visits during orthodontic treatment?

We are often asked if our patients need to continue to see their general or pediatric dentist during orthodontic treatment at Gorman & Bunch Orthodontics.  We encourage you to continue your 6 month routine cleaning and exams with your dentist.  We sometimes recommend that patients go every 3 months if there are oral hygiene risk factors or we notice a decrease in oral hygiene during treatment.  There are several reasons for you to continue visiting your dentist during orthodontic treatment.

Orthodontist do not have a hygienist in the office to perform routine cleanings.  It is important to have your teeth cleaned every 6 months.  Visiting your dentist for checkups and cleanings should continue to be part of you or your child’s preventive oral hygiene.

Although Dr’s Gorman and Bunch are always looking for signs of decay or decalcification there are areas that only the radiographs dentist take can detect the start of certain cavities.  Therefore we highly recommend you continue with your  biannual dental visits.

Proper oral hygiene and routine dental exams/cleanings are important to maintain a healthy mouth.  There are many links to systemic health and oral health therefore Dr’s Gorman and Bunch highly recommend you follow all of your preventive oral hygiene routines before, during, and after your orthodontic treatment in the office.

Braces Cost for Kids in Belmont Victoria

How much do braces cost for kids? Both my kids need braces. What is the average cost for a good orthodontist? The following are some of the answers on How much braces cost for kids:
  • $$$2-4000 depending on the area of the country you live in- and sometimes they give discounts for families. If you live near a dental school you might try them. Orthodontists have to get training somewhere.
  • It all depends on the work that needs to be done.... I don't think the prices are much different from adults to kids, its still orthodontic work and they keep them just as long as we do as adults if not more, it all depends on the work that needs to be done but its at least a few thousand dollars. If you have insurance it "usually" covers it but check ur insurance first. Otherwise its worth it. Im 38 and got mine just a bit over a year ago and they cost me 5600 $CDN, and that doesnt count all the dental work that needed to be done before (cavities, widsom teeth pulled out, root canals, etc)
  • I had braces and the metal braces cost an average of $3,000 for a whole set and that includes the retainers and all of the procedures that come along with them. Invisaligns are $8,000 though. I asked before about them but I wore the metal ones.
  • When my sister and I got braces when we were younger which was a long time ago. It cost my mom lots of money but it paid off in the end because our teeth are really straight and beautiful. It cost my mom about $2,000 for each of us but the great part is if you can't afford to pay all of it at once. Some orthodontist finance so you can make a small monthly payment.
